New to sewing?  Need one last present for the holidays?  It's Snow Much Fun and ScanNCut to the rescue!

This wonderful wintery project introduces you to beginning skills:

  • Cutting and prepping fabrics
  • Quarter-inch seaming the background
  • ScanNCut basics
  • Layering and fusing designs
  • Decorative stiches for machine applique
  • Sewing on buttons with your machine
  • Finishing/binding with the backing fabric

Laura will guide you through this traditional sewing project for a 12" x 55" table runner in a quilt as you go method December 12 and 13 from 10-5 both days.   

Choose to attend either in-person or virtually.   

This class is has options for machine embroiderers for multiple hoopings due to the design size.  .  

Class fee includes embroidery files, cut files, HeatNBond Lite for applique.

Class Specific Supplies

Fabrics

  • 5 assorted blue background fabrics
  • fat quarters of two different whites for snowmen (more for variety)
  • 2 grey fabrics for hill 
  • Backing fabric 1 yard
  • Cotton batting piece 12.5" x 55.5" at least
  • Scraps for arms/branches hat, scarf, snowflakes
  • SF101 or other woven fusible fused to white fabrics

Equipment

  • ScanNCut (if you have one) with 12" x 24" low tack mat
  • Sewing machine in good working order
  • Walking foot (for quilt as you go method)
  • Button foot (M for Brother/Babylock brands)
  • Applique scissors
  • Applique pressing sheet
  • Black for blanket stitching OR Coordinating polyester or rayon threads 
  • Bobbins 3 wound ahead of time to match/coordinate with backing fabric
  • Button varieties:
    • White--eight 7/8", four 3/4", twelve 1/2"
    • Red-- four 5/8", two 7/8"
    • Turquoise--four 5/8" and two 7/8"
    • Green--two 5/8" and two 3/4"
    • Yellow--four 3/4"
    • Black--four tiny buttons for eyes
