Learn the process from start to finish over this four-week series. If you've already made a quilt before, join us for perfecting techniques and learning tricks to make your journey easier. Class fees include video segments and instructional handouts. Lesson goals follow.
Fabric Requirements:
- Fabric A-¾ yd focus fabric for blocks
- Fabric B-5/8 yd for four patch blocks
- Fabric C-5/8 yd for four patch blocks
- Fabric D-1/3yd for binding
- Fabric E-1 ½ yd for backing fabric
- Batting-wait to purchase until after class starts
Supplies needed:
- Sewing Machine in Good Working Order
- Rotary Cutter
- Acrylic Ruler-6 ½ x24 ½ or 8 ½ x24 ½
- Acrylic Ruler-6 ½ square
- Self Healing Mat
- Quilting Pins
- Seam ripper
- Masking tape or painters tape
- Scissors/snips for cutting threads
- Hand sewing needles if sewing binding by hand
- Curved safety pins
- 1/4” foot with or without guide
- Optional-Wonder clips for binding
Lesson 1
· Cutting Fabric for 4 patch blocks and focus fabrics
· Accurate ¼” seams
· Sewing 4 patch blocks-nesting seams
· Squaring Up
***Homework-sewing (24) 4 patch blocks and finish cutting 24 focus fabric blocks
Lesson 2
· Sewing blocks into rows
· Sewing rows together
***Homework-finish sewing the rows together to finish assembling the quilt top
Lesson 3
· Layering and pinning the “quilt sandwich”
· Quilting
